King Mook - BLACK P.O.E.T. (EP) REVIEW

Listen to this certified Boom Bap Universe blog BANGER from rising Georgia hip hop recording artist King Mook titled Black P.O.E.T.!

This EP contains 6 tracks of solid lyrics, and beats that will certainly satisfy your soul and please your eardrums.  The project is exclusively produced by Pyrex Apollo, and the composer does an amazing job of flipping classic samples with speaker knocking drums.  Although this EP brings the listeners back to that golden era traditional hip hop, the project also moves you forward with a strong blend of progressive modern era hip hop as well, and does it perfectly without sounding forced all while staying true to it's Boom Bap roots.

The sonic backdrops and larger than life production isn't the only thing holding this EP together, King Mook's clever word play, and lyricism is what really takes Black P.O.E.T to the next level!  King Mook's rhymes match perfectly with Pyrex's soulful production style.  Although 6 tracks is all you need without overdoing it, the EP will most definitely leave the listeners yearning for more and more!

Listen to the EP here at this direct link and post your feedback!

Young artist Remakes TUPAC's "If I Die 2Nite" from the Classic ME AGAINST THE WORLD Album

It's great to hear the young artists paying homage to the hip hop generation that came many years before them and keeping the hip hop culture and heritage alive.  Recently, rising North Carolina based emcee K.W. the Artisan gave a proper salute to the late / great Tupac by recording a newer, up to date version of 2Pac's "If I Die 2Nite" from the classic ME AGAINST THE WORLD album.

K.W. (which stands for King Wundaboi) does a "wunda"ful job flipping the original Easy Moe Bee produced track, making it a style of his own without biting or damaging the original version.  In fact, The Artisan owns it to the point where the song sounds like a totally different song on it's own all while paying respect to the legacy of the late Mr. Shakur.  Listen to the song for yourself here at this direct link and let us know what you think

If you like K.W. the Artisan's style, then check out more of what he has to offer here at this direct link http://www.theartisanarticles.blogspot.com
